New public consultations on CLH proposals for three pesticides and two industrial chemicals

The CLH proposals for the three pesticides are submitted by the Netherlands, while the CLH proposals for two other substances are submitted by Industry.

Pyridaben and Dodemorph already have entries in the Annex VI to the CLP Regulation, and  revisions of the current Annex VI entries (e.g. removal or addition of hazard classes) are proposed by the Netherlands. Dodemorph acetate (the actual substance used in pesticide products), on the other hand, does not currently have an Annex VI entry, which means that it has no formally agreed classification status in the EU.

Phenol, dodecyl-, branched has no current Annex VI entry. The CLH proposal for this substance includes both health and environmental hazards.

Imidazole does not have a current Annex VI entry and the proposal by Industry covers health hazards only.

Examples of the uses of these substances, as indicated in the CLH report, are included in the table below. The CLH reports and the dedicated webform to post the comments are available on the ECHA website. Through this webform, parties concerned are also able to identify and register themselves, should they wish to be contacted by ECHA in the future in order to discuss specific issues related to the CLH of the substance.

ECHA's Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC) will consider the comments received during the public consultation when developing its opinion on the CLH proposal. The Commission takes into account the RAC opinion when it decides whether the proposal for harmonised classification and labelling is accepted and if so, the substance is added to the list of hazardous substances for which harmonised classification and labelling has been established (Annex VI, part 3 of the CLP Regulation).

The comments received will be published on the ECHA website to allow interested parties to review and respond to the comments during the 45-day consultation phase. ECHA encourages parties concerned to submit comments early during the consultation period to allow sufficient time for the public to react and provide comments.
