China MOH Approves 4 New Additives for Food Containers and Packaging Materials

On Jan. 8, 2014, the National Health and Family Planning Commission of People’s Republic of China (formerly the Ministry of Health) has finally published a formal notice to approve 4 new food contact additives, 1 resin and enlarge the application scope of 3 existing additives after 4 months' public consultations.
The four new food contact additives are:

3,4-diacetoxy-1-butene (DAB);

formamide, n-ethenyl-, homopolymer;

formamide, n-ethenyl-, polymer with ethenamine, hydrochloride; and;

titanium nitride.

The 3 existing additives with extended uses are:

Cobalt Stearate；

Phenol, 2,4-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-,phosphite(3:1)

Stearic acid

The 1 newly approved resin is Ethenol polymer with ethene, 1-(vinyloxy) propan-2-ol, and 2-(vinyloxy)propan-1-o1.
